As a fellow IWW Co-op worker from Central MN I am saddened and disgusted by the recent anti-union activity going on at this co-op. Fear and intimidation have no place in our community or the workplace.
To my fellow food co-op shoppers. I have learned that a worker from East Side Coop has been fired by the bosses in a clear act of intimidation for organizing. This goes against the values of sustainable food and fair treatment of all workers in the food industry, from agricultural workers, to those processing food, and to those in the retail food business. As a former member of this co-op, I am disappointed to hear about the anti-worker, anti-union tactics of firing one of their workers for her union activism. Not in our community! Bring Angelique back!
Fear and intimidation have no place in our community, and they have no place in our co-op! Stop the anti-union pressure on workers now. Choose a GM that reflects co-op values!
I'm northeast resident and a proud union member. I'm disappointed to hear that workers have been fired and intimidated for organizing. I will never again shop at this co-op.
The staff is always efficient and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming and energetic :D
