My partner and I have eaten here for many years and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I just called since we are getting married and asked about having a table of about 15 people and the MGR. told me they could not help me. They would not take a reservation for more than 10 people. Not even 1 table of ten and a second of 5. What's even more odd is that in the past year we did have a party of 15 for a Sunday Brunch and it was not a problem. So, if you are wanting to book a party of 15 definitely don't tell mention that ... read more

Ate there today with a friend who said, "This is 5-star dining at a 2-star price." I couldn't agree more. I had a lovely fresh salad within-house lemon-tarragon dressing.

Please order Bootsie's buttermilk pie with strawberries. Wild mushroom crepes are the best. Love the huge variety of fresh grown veggies.

A favorite – We love dining at Eastside Cafe. Each experience has been wonderful. The atmosphere is charming. If you have a wait for your table, walking around the grounds and their shop next door is a great way to kill time. The food has been fresh, innovative, and delicious. Great service also.

Citysearch Editorial Review – It's elegant without being overly formal. The interior of this old house features several small rooms that hold a few tables each, giving the space a cozy and intimate ambience. Walls painted vanilla or slate-blue/gray make an unobtrusive backdrop for framed leaves and flowers. Nearby residents and workers enjoy the artichoke manicotti, featuring carrot, noodles, mozzarella and mushrooms in a tomato-cream sauce. Still, desserts like the pumpkin-gingerbread cake are the real standout.

Disappointment – I had dinner a few nights ago at East Side Café with an old friend who was in town for business, and we had reservations at 6:45pm. I had previously gone many times over the years but hadn’t been back for over a year or so. Unfortunately, East Side Cafe did not live up to its reputation and prices. Although we had reservations, we were placed in not very desirable table in a far corner of the Garden Room. Worse, we were rushed the whole evening; it seemed that the server was most interested in moving the tab... read more

East Side Cafe mmmmm good – Went for lunch, seem to always after Thankgiving every year. The food is fresh and flavorable (is that a word?) The place is homey and warm. It's not inexpensive, but you can't beat it for a treat. Table cloths and cloth napkin kind of place, not as pricey and dressed up as Green Pastures, but just as good. The peach oolong tea sounded better than it was. The chicken artichoke soup was to die for.

Talk About False Advertising! – Initial conversation at the table went something like this: us, "what's fresh from the garden today?" them, "at the moment, for tonight, we have some nice herb garnishes and also fresh herbs that are an ingredient in the fish special's sauce." us, "so much is in season right now. you are not serving a dish from the garden?" them,... smiled
