Living in Maryland and S. California, I have the opportunity to eat out often. The Early Bird in Charleston is one of the most interesting and delicious restaurants in the country. The food is unique and extremely flavorful, the atmosphere is comfortable and homey, and the Service is warm, efficient, and outstanding by a professional staff that is like a loving, caring Family. What a Treat any meal is at this incredible Landmark. And they will even cook Poached Eggs as hard as Basketballs, if you wish!!!
This place is the bomb! Love, love, love their chicken and waffles!
I ordered the "big bowl of grits" and added cheddar cheese & bacon along with fried chicken. Insanely delicious!!!

I'm a breakfast regular (omelette girl, no sides, unsweet tea) and it's always fabulous. The staff treats me like one of their own. Tonight though, I took the family for dinner for the first time. Not sure why I never tried it for dinner. I had the speckled butter bean and ham chowder for starter. Dee-lish. I had the pork chop special with mashed potatoes and collards for dinner.
