About this business

Duke Kahanamoku was (and still is) a Hawaiian icon and statesman. He ruled the waves as a surfer and subsequently introduced the sport to the rest of the world. In homage to the man, the original Duke's restaurant was created in Honolulu's Waikiki Outrigger Hotel and since then several other restaurants around California and Hawaii have opened. This one in Huntington Beach serves superb food sourced from sustainable and environmentally conscious vendors. The menu features both surf and turf options, some of which include the... read more

The food was awesome. We love the atmosphere and view. Unfortunately the Mai Tai's seemed watered down. I've had much better at Islands. The service was SLOW and not attentive. I felt we were an afterthought. People who came after us were served sooner and left before us. Probably the worst service we have had there. Server's name was Bobby.

This review is more for the valet parking than Duke's itself. I valet parked my car last night came out 3 hours later and my car had been ransacked. I'm a local, so why my wife and I went to Duke's for dinner on Spring Break Friday night is a mystery. I've never seen the restaurant so busy. We sat in the bar for an hour waiting for a table. As usual, the Mai Tais and the Poke Taco appetizer were fabulous. Dinner was equally excellent. My wife had the Halibut special. I had the Prime Rib "Duke's Style", a terrific method of preparation I stole for my smoker and grill at home. Considering the crowd, it was an excellent evening at Duke's.
