I was driving through Virginia with a friend and it was time for lunch. Always on the lookout for local restaurants and especially regional BBQ, I spotted the fat pink pig on the roadside sign and HAD to track it down. Pulling in, I was hit with the wood smoke aroma of their BBQ pit. This is the real deal. It was packed, another good sign. This place is legit and the Lexington sauce is the new boss!
Stopped here to have lunch yesterday. We were welcomed by very friendly staff as soon as we entered. The smell inside was amazing and from the first sip of my sweet tea I knew we had stumbled onto something good! Pulled pork sandwich was tasty and they had a great assortment of sauces. Fried green tomatoes were crisp and delicious and sweet potato casserole was very good also. The kids' chicken nuggets were real chicken and they ate everything! We hope to come back soon, preferably on a Tuesday evening for all you can eat!
It's my favorite BBQ in the Roanoke and New River Valley thus far.
The ribs were over cooked and were hard on the outside. The chicken was good. The mac & cheese was good. Best thing was the banana pudding.
Always love eating here. Glad we are locals. Great bbq, great prices.
