Been at this establishment back in 2015; persuaded my friends after driving 200+ miles to bowl in a local tournament to eat here since we had to bowl the next day -- my mistake. Due South lost half a star for customer service. The place was fairly empty and we were hungry, but the menu options weren't begging to try us, so we just wanted smoked-meat by the pound (take out) and to eat on site "against policy!" Never been to an establishment that didn’t want my money. They offer bbq by weight, which is what my friends and I wanted but they said it’s for take out only? Seriously? I WANT to give them my money for bbq but they’d rather not sell to me because it’s on their take out menu? What a load of crap, their bbq wasn’t spectacular either. Pork was flavorful but dry, brisket was dry and had no smoke flavor, sweet potato casserole had an excessive amount of pecans, their sauces were ok.

Hi, so we def wanna sell bulk bbq for takeout. In order to keep prices low (we are $2 per pound cheaper than all other Bbqers around.) We have to sell it for takeout cause our plates (eat-in) are higher priced (because of providing plates/forks/drinks/etc.) Bulk pricing is stripped down (think wholesale) to feed a bunch of folks. If we had a bunch of parking and seating we prob could do the bulk pricing and stay open by selling volume. But alas, we just a small local owned place in a rehabbed hundred year old building. Funky place with great flavors and selection. Did tailgater take out and everything was delicious.
Was heading south on 81 and found this great place, right of an exit. Got the half slab of ribs and brisket, the ribs were done perfect and brisket had great flavor. I must say the hush puppies were a great surprise delicious. On my way home I will be stopping in again.
Was driving home to Delaware from visiting family in New Orleans and stopped here for a bite to eat... tried the sweet potato casserole stuff... got in the car drove back down to New Orleans and slapped my step-mama this stuff was so good - brisket, beans, and sauce were pretty good too
Excellent ribs, pulled pork and smoked potatoes. This establishment ranks up there with the best as far as quality and price.
Will definitely make it a destination every time we're in the area from now on.
