The system set up for new contact lens wearers here seemed strange and drawn out. After the exam was done the facility requests you to come back multiple times for the doctor to 'see how the contacts are going'. They won't give you your prescription til you attend these appointments. Also the doctor had to change contact prescription after he previously had done and exam already a few weeks prior.
