They laid sod for our backyard last year. It looked bad, it was uneven and there were some pretty big gaps between the sod. All they said was it would fill in. This year it looks horrible! The grass has died in a very large area in spite of us watering. If you rake the grass comes up by the roots. Not deep rooted at all and in spite of my husband calling numerous times they will not even return our calls nor come look to see what can be done. They put clay sod in and it is hard as a rock! Not soft good soil at all!
