Nightmare! Had the displeasure of meeting Dr Dan Selbst (his brother is also a podiatrist, they share an office) in the hospital where I was admitted for a foot issue. He was very insistent on setting a surgery date, though he did not even see my wound under the bandages. He said I should have 1, maybe 2 toes amputated! Without even seeing my foot!!!! Also, I would need to pay his set surgery fee of $650 before the surgery, as he is out of network with most major insurance!!!!!!!! I asked around about him, and heard a story ... read more

Went to see Dr. Selbst because of pain in both feet in the metatarsal area and wanted to determine if pain was solely arthritis or possible bone/ligament injury incurred through dance (ballet, tap, jazz). After an MRI and X-rays, I returned and Dr. Selbst reviews finding and offered solutions. He taped both my feet to assist with healing and reduction of pain as well as provided some metatarsal pads for my shoes hand cut.
