Every one of the healthcare team were super friendly and kind. However, Dr. Wood made me feel like I was just another number. Very impersonal and avoided answering my questions.
She is helping me with my problem that I'm having with heavy bleeding
It wasn’t the best. I’ve had a lot go on with me medically up to & including a hospital stay that lasted several weeks & impacted mobility due to a neurological problem among other things - none of which has ever been fully identified or treated. Because so many things changed after that I think it requires some discussion on alternatives, ideas, help in some way to fix or at least feel better. Dr Wood did a through examination & gave knowledgeable explanations of what could be done to help my condition. Both Dr Wood & her medical student, Lillian were pleasant.

She explained things to me with compassion!! She is what doctors should aspire to be!
She’s very nice, but I think she would smile and nod at me all the way to my grave. I attempted to discuss alternate screening options. I couldn’t tell if she disagreed with what I was asking or simply wasn’t up to date to contribute anything to the conversation. Either way, that’s simply not what I expect from a healthcare professional. I kind of get the impression she just wants to maintain status quo and rush you in and out with as little effort as possible.
My most recent visit I was due to have an annual. I have previously had precancerous cells and have had to have colposcopies and a leep to ensure removal of cells but it is very important for me to continue receiving paps to catch any developments early. I was brought back and told she would be in shortly and then sat there for 35 mins undressed waiting to have a nurse come in and tell me she had an emergency at the hospital across the street and I was more than welcome to wait or I could reschedule and so I waited a bit lon... read more
Dr Wood took over via patient portal message, accepting me for a biopsy that I was having to argue with my other gynecologist's nurse that it had already been scheduled, I just knew my pain and wanted something more than just ibuprofen. Dr Wood stepped into the chat and offered that she would do a cervical block to help my pain. She even did a pap smear that my previous gynecologist failed to obtain enough tissue for and they found something!
