I will never forget Dr. Downey. When my son was having developmental delays he immediately recognized there was an issue and got us on the path to get him early intervention. I believe that support changed the outcome of my son’s life - he fits right in with his peers and is thriving.
Dr. Downey was recommended by my OB as well as friends. He took care of my kids from the time they were released from NICU. He has been one if the best doctors I've had the privilege of knowing here in Vegas. When my daughter had open heart surgery and was very critical he kept in touch with personal communication after hours and visited her in hospital which made her day. He is amazing with my sin who is now 15. He is so dedicated to his patients.
Dr. Downey was my pediatrician from the day I was born until I was 18 years old. I actually was born with severe jaundice and he was called in to treat me and my mom decided to go to him since that day. Many of my adolescent memories involved him. He was always understanding and relateable even though I was so young. I remember screaming and crying if I was sick and he wasn’t in the office that day. I recommend him now to all of my friends who are now having kids.
Dr. Downey was actually recommended to me by my OBGYN, and my children have been his patients since birth- over 8 years. I appreciate his level of experience and medical knowledge. He spends time with my children and speaks to them directly. He is the only doctor that has ever called my home after a "sick" visit to check up on my child.
Dr. Downey has a great vibe! He shares his knowledge in very specific yet understandable terms, so I've always felt comfortable with my options and any problems my children have faced. Whether you are a bit of a worrier or a professional at parenting through a child with health problems, Dr. Downey will give you confidence in your child's health plan and their ability to rebound from illness. His nurse hotline has been a life saver as well, and all the staff are friendly and accommodating.
We interviewed 3 pediatricians before deciding Dr Downey is our man. Going on 13 years with our boys and he lets us back each year. By far, the best reputation in town. Just ask any nurse you know in town! Personable, tries to take time with each boy and makes a point of remembering details about each of them. We're trying to raise them to 18 before he retires. The best!
He is great with my daughter and very thorough even called me back in the evening to check on her! He feels like family
