I was referred to Dr. Brayer. For my initial visit and consultation, I ended up waiting over 30 minutes (including sitting in the dentist's chair for over 20 staring at a wall). He finally entered and was very quiet, and made a prognosis before even checking (as soon as he heard I had wisdom teeth, he said they have to be removed--I guess removing the teeth would make a periodontist's job much easier because there won't be any gum issues). He did the inspection of the gaps and was clumsy--when my dentist and another periodontist did them with the tool, it was fine. When Dr. Brayer did it, there was blood and discomfort. My experience was distasteful enough that I quickly contacted other periodontists in the area and had a much better experience with the person I eventually ended up with (Dr. Israel Puterman).

I went in for a crown lengthening and was treated horribly. Not only did Dr. Brayer not explain to me what he was going to do during the procedure, he refused to call or consult with my dentist at all. He immediately suggested sedation during the procedure which I never need and ended up giving me way too much Novocaine. I explained too much Novocaine makes me faint and did not listen and I fainted. I couldn't have the procedure that day and I decided to find another doctor because of the horrible treatment. I was still charged in full even though the procedure did not occur.

I had an implant and gum issues. I have recommended him to everyone. He is the best. I would go to him even if my insurance would not pay for him. He is worth paying every penny.

I have scheduled my appointment with Dr. Brayer in April 2007 for May 21,2007. Back in 2004 I have suffered MI and received 2 stents with subsequent prescription for Plavix. When I was making an appointment I have mentioned about Plavix. I have significant calcification deposits and needed deep cleaning with subsequent dental work. During my initial appointment, after taking a complete set of new x-rays, Dr. Brayer informed me that he wants me go off Plavix for at least one week. I consulted with my cardiologist who said that should not stop Plavix because of the nature of my stents (drug coated). To make the story short, Dr. Brayer began sending me for blood tests. First, his office called me and asked for the recent blood test results. I went to the lab and got the blood test. Then, Dr. Brayer said that he specifically wants the PT, INR, and bleeding time tests. I've got the first two because the bleeding time can only be done in the hospital. To make the story short, after almost 2 months of pushing me around he refused to work on me even before getting my INR and PT blood test results. I qualify such "service" [read: no service] as very unprofessional.
