He was incredibly dismissive and "diagnosed" (or misdiagnosed) my issue with a 5-minute appointment where he clearly didn't listen to what I said was going on and did no tests.
Dr. Balcom is the best. I had meniscectomy over 12 years ago. Doing great. Did have few cortisone injections since my surgery. It's been 4 years since my last one. Today I got one, hopefully for the next 4 years or more. He explained everything to me step by step. Dr. Balcom is The BEST.
He is a bad doctor. It had an injury and all the symptoms of a meniscus tear and refused to give me an MRI. He said it was not a tear and said it was arthritis and there was no good treatment beyond taking advil. Then I had to get a 2nd opinion and the new doctor said it looks like meniscus tear and gave me an MRI and lo and behold it was a tear. he completely screwed up the diagnosis. Now he is not properly treating my knee and refuses to do any treatment.
Dr. Balcom did my hip and it was an excellent experience! I was back to work in less than 2 weeks!
I met with this Dr. about some chronic hip pain I had been having along with an acute possible labrum repair. He completed my hip range of motion examination while I was sitting in a chair. My hip was not in neutral position and he did not check my hip extension which is my biggest issue, again because I was in a chair. He also completed a gait assessment in 2 steps provided in a small exam room, a gait assessment could have easily been done in the hall outside the door. He did not want to hear me on anything.
