We are extremely pleased with our previous experiences with Mercy Orthopedics. A friend had a very successful outcome from shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Nanavati and recommended him for our shoulder problems. My wife and I saw him for our shoulders and wrists. We found him highly competent, listened very well, explained everything in layman terms and successfully treated us. We like that he does not rush to operate or just give shots.
Dr.Nanavati treated me with encouragement during my treatment on my finger that was partially amputated during a work accident. His staff was absolutely accommodating with my appointments.I highly recommend him.
I’m sure he is a good Doctor but very rude and speaks to you like a toddler and talks to you like you’re beneath him. He treats you like gum beneath his feet
Waited about an hour and a half after appointment time. No apology or consideration even when brought up wait. Doctor spoke to me like I was a toddler. Wanted to perform surgery when it was not required (injury has since healed on its own). One would think the doctor and staff were the ones with painful injuries instead of patients by their attitudes and lack of consideration. If you do see this doctor, be prepared to wait and please get a second opinion if surgery is recommended.
Vip performed minor hand surgery on me for a thorn in my finger. He also performed shoulder surgery on my husband to repair torn rotator and labrum. Highly recommend him.
I gave him 1 star because he may be a good surgeon but his patient care is very unprofessional. He writes reports that personally attacks his patients if you disagree with him. He does not read your therapy reports before visiting with you. I was released from his care about a little over 4 months with chronic right shoulder pain and weakness. Please for your sake choose another surgeon because there are a lot of good professional surgeons out there.
Business response:
I am sorry for the feelings expressed by Sterling. To you sir, I am happy to sit with you any time. I am happy to engage every client individually and spend as much time as is necessary to discuss their concerns. My staff and I strive to provide transparent, honest, and fair care for every client. I will never discharge any patient from my care and will gladly see them for as long as they wish. I whole-heartedly appreciate the trust and faith clients place in our hands in when choosing us.
Dr. Nanavati and his staff are wonderful. I had carpal tunnel surgery in my right hand in 2015 and did well. I just had my much needed left hand done this past Friday and the Doctor was so kind and very reassuring. He replaced my 78 year old father's shoulder 3 years ago and he did great. You are in very kind capable hands with Dr. Nanavati and Mercy Hospital!!!
Business response:
Thank you Mildred for your kind words. I am happy you had a wonderful experience with us. Regards, Dr. N
WARNING: If you see this dr (or any dr located at Mercy hospital), and he does any type of procedure, you will basically be charged twice (once by the dr, and again by the hospital). I waited almost 2 hours in the waiting room, and saw the dr. for less than 15 mins. At that time, he aspirated a cyst in my finger Less than 1 month later, the cyst is already coming back and I am out over $500 out of pocket (I was charged twice for an "operating room", x-rays, a surgical procedure, etc.)...
Business response:
I am sorry this nice person experienced such difficulties during their visit. I am very sorry for the time spent waiting to be seen. We have made adjustments to address this problem. I am very aware of the quality and demands on a client's time. I am sorry the cyst came back despite our initial effort for aspiration in the hopes of avoiding a surgical procedure. I was unaware of the billing concerns. My staff will be happy to investigate & rectify. Please do contact our office.
I was kept waiting in his offic for over two hours. I understand emergencies arise, however, the lateness was not addressed. He spent a total of less than 5 minutes with me and was very short-tempered.
Business response:
It is with sadness that I read this review. I never wish for any patient to feel shorted by their visit. We do our best to accommodate every patient's need. I do not recall ever spending only 5 mins with any patient in my 11 years in practice; but I am sorry this was the experience they perceived. We do run late at times as we are trying to give our patients the time they need. What may be viewed as short tempered is often honesty; still, I apologize to this patient for their experience.
