Dr. Vela listens to my problems and has successfully treated my issues and made me feel human again. She is very caring, always greets me with a smile, and listens closely to any issues I may be having. I’m extremely grateful for Dr. Vela.
Dr. Vanessa Vela has been treating our 7 year old daughter Elle. She has done a great job, as Elle had trouble staying focused. Elle was prescribed a very small dosage of medication, which I prefer. Elle has been doing much better, and is thriving in her dual language program at her elementary school. Dr. Vela has patience and is very kind. I highly recommend.
Dr. Vela has been my doctor for years and I would recommend that someone seeking treatment for mental health to schedule an appointment and meet with her to determine if she will suit your needs. I live well over an hour away; however, the distance was not an issue because my priority was finding a professional that I could communicate with. For me, Dr. Vela was the right fit and I have a great respect for her as well as for the progress she has helped me achieve in my life.
For the last seven + years, Dr.Vela has treated both me and my son, and has done an outstanding job. She is thorough, compassionate, and helpful in both her conversations and medical treatment. Throughout seven years of appointments, our average wait time has never been longer than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend this doctor and her practice.
I have been under the care of Psychiatrists and Counselors for over 40 years. My mental illness with proper pharmaceuticals, personal work, compliance, and continued counseling have allowed me to live and work in healthcare. Dr. Vela has been my Psychiatrist since moving back home about 7 years ago. She continues to keep me on essential meds. She has made herself available for emergency phone calls, ASAP appointments and she does not keep me waiting. I know I can trust her and her team.
I can say that I struggled for so long with so many Dr's that for a long time I wanted to give up. But my Dr. never gave up. She always has a smile on her face and always ask if I am doing okay. She knows that I don't have much of a social circle and just the fact that she ask with a smile to see that I am doing okay makes me feel peace. Thank you Dr. Vela for having my life that I thought I would never get back.
Dr. Vela has been a instrumental part of my being able to manage everyday life. I have sought help from several professional entities in the past and I feel as though she has discovered what I needed. I feel that with her continued help I will be able to make a full recovery to complete mental health. I would highly recommend her to all. Also she exhibits a great amount of professional integrity. All of my family have commented on my positive changes. Dr. Vela deserves five stars!
I have been a patient of Dr. Vela for the past four years, as I was diagnosed with adult ADHD and OCD. She made me feel completely comfortable from the first moment I stepped into her office. From her front desk staff to her bedside manner have been nothing but caring and professional. I would recommend ANYONE considering seeing psychiatrist Dr. Vela and her staff.
I've never had to wait more than a few moments upon arrival. She listens to my experience with meds & adjusts meds as needed. She has been consistently pleasant. Once was 15min late (called omw) & she graciously fit me in. She's a no-nonsense practitioner, & I suspect that she prefers clients that are low drama/high functioning. Sometimes her notes are off or RXs are not written as discussed. IMO, Dr is best fit for responsible patients experienced with mental health system/meds/self advocacy.
