I've been a patient of Dr Ulmer quite a few years now. I've had bad knees quite a few years now, Ulmer and Bob have done amazing things to keep me going over the years, but I finally wore the right knee out, where I couldn't go on anymore and finally had to have a full knee replacement. Dr. Ulmer is a great orthopedic surgeon, he really cares for his patients and does what’s best for their well-being. This is a welcoming environment and the receptionist was really helpful and friendly with scheduling in order to meet my needs.

Dr Ulmer performed my torn rotator cuff surgery at Portland Adventist Medical Center in October of 2019. From the very first visit, Dr Ulmer addressed my every concern with kindness, patience showing incredible skill and knowledge. I had no qualms before or after the surgery due to his gentle bedside manner. My confidence in his skills was absolute. The surgical experience, although very painful, was well worth the effort. I highly recommend Dr. Ulmer. I was in an accident and his office called me back within hours of my initial call and squeezed me in for an appointment that same day. Over the next few weeks, Dr. Ulmer was extremely responsive. He returned my calls on the same day I left him a message. He answered all of my questions in a way that helped me understand what was happening. He is kind and a truly compassionate doctor. He's one of the best doctors I've ever seen.
He is humble, kind, knowledgeable. Wonderful man.
