According to an article I found on Richmond[.]com dated July 13, 2020, he is no longer a surgeon and is now coaching football at James River High Scool. :(
All of my experiences have been awesome. I was so confident in his excellent care that I recommended several Senior Adults at my church who had successful surgeries. Dr. Scioscia scheduled my surgery around his vacation making sure I was out of the hospital as he left. I just cannot find out where he is now that it is time for me to have my check up. Anyone know how to get in touch with him?
My L5 blew out. Dr Scioscia was my surgeon and he did a great job, put in 2 rods, 4 screws, decompressed L2 and L3. This was done in 2008, and I've been doing great ever since. I praise Dr. Scioscia and his team.
Dr Scioscia gave me my active life back. He figured out that despite previous Back Docs telling me that pain is my new normal, it isnt! Highly recommend him and his staff!
Both my husband and sister depend on Dr. Scioscia for our spine care needs. He performed a double discectomy & fusion on my cervical spine 2 years ago - great job! Now we see him for our lower spine issues. He has helped me with the right script for P.T. and he looks for alternatives before jumping into surgery. We respect him as a practitioner and he has a good bedside manner.

Dr. Scioscia is a wonderful doctor. Knows each of his paient's history at the first visit as he takes the time to read all the forms you have filled out prior to coming in to talk with you. He looks at and is willing to look at all alternatives to surgery. I am presently going to him for steroid injections for my lower back/sciatic in both legs. He is so patient and kind. Dr. Scioscia is wonderful. He has done 2 surgeries on my back. I hope I never have to choose another back dr. He is a marvelous communicator.
