I have never met Dr Dickinson. He is not my GI Specialist! I was hospitalized 3 weeks for a severe case of gastroperesis. I came back into the ER because I was vomiting, and in a lot of pain. I haven’t had a bad flare up in 4 years. While I was in the ER tonight the ER Dr called the Dr on call and it happened to be him. Dr Dickinson advised the ER Dr to basically not treat me at all. Dr’s may think they know everything about what it feels like with certain medical conditions. The patient should have the right to be comfortab... read more
Highly recommend him. He is a hard worker who gives back by volunteering his time to help those in need. Really appreciate his work ethic.
Since receiving an endoscopy from this doctor, I have been in breakthrough pain every day for over a month. Each time I try to communicate that my pain level is an 8 or 9 and needs immediate attention, I am advised to take my meds for reducing stomach acid and that ulcers take a while to heal. As a result of this intolerable pain, I was fired from my job, unable to perform my duties from this ongoing misery. Attempting to see the doctor was futile. I've experienced total indifference.
I would never go to him again. I sat in the exam room for 1 1/2 hours and listened to him make phone calls and talk with his family. The nurse told him several times that he had a patient but he dismissed her with a "I know". It was the most frustrating and disrespectful experience with a doctor that I have ever had. Then when he did come out of the office he saw another patient first that had just been put in an exam room. Terrible experience! Steer clear of this doctor.
Dr. Dickenson performed my first colonoscopy. He explained everything he was doing very well, and treated me with kindness and respect. I had a great experience with Dr. Dickenson, and have referred a couple of family members to him for the same procedure.
He is direct and let's you ask as many questions as you would like.
Dr. Dickinson does know what he's doing, and his staff is very responsive. However, the office is busy enough that stuff does sometimes fall through the cracks. Additionally, Dr. Dickinson is so busy that it's hard to get an appointment with him, and he blasts through appointments incredibly fast, sometimes cutting you off mid-sentence. I am still satisfied with the care I've gotten, but I won't say it's perfect.
He seems to be a very caring man and has an awesome bedside manner. I would recommend him on that alone. This is my first visit so I don't have any medical procedures to comment on.
Dr. Dickinson, Beth, and his staff are absolutely the kindest, professional, and helpful with any questions that I have. I have known Dr. Dickinson for many many years. He is the only Gastroenterologist that I would ever go to. My Father-in- law had cancer and because I praised Dr. Dickinson, he changed to Dr. Dickinson. He also saved my Father life when he had esophageal varices. He is a wonderful doctor and I consider him a friend as well. Thank you, Cindy Day
