Dr Yakoubisn is a brilliant doctor! She is treating my brother and he’s getting well after he’s seen several other specialists that had no clue what was wrong with him. She is very patient and explains everything along the way.
I saw Dr. Yacoubian at UAB Ataxia Center in Birmingham, AL. My Variant of SCA35 is a VUS with a high REVEL. Based on this, my family history, and clinical presentation - she felt the SCA35 fit. I was always told by past neurologist (and the radiology report) that my MRIs were normal. Dr. Yacoubian reviewed my MRI disc (I had a copy), and found issues that no one has ever saw atrophy etc. She was kind, listened to me, and was empathetic with my frustrations.
