I was referred to him by a friend. He is non judgmental and treats you as a patient and not just a collection of symptoms. I highly recommend him.

He takes time to go over the diagnosis and is careful not to give you meds with side effects
Finding a psychiatrist you can work with is one of the most difficult medical tasks that can face a patient. In my experience, mental health issues are extremely difficult to treat, as no two patients are alike, nor are their responses to medical interventions. Dr. Varma has done well by me. We have found a medical regimen that works, and he has always listened to my concerns and worked with me.
Dr Varma comes highly recommended by other doctors in the community. I like his sense of humor. He is totally non judgemental. I would recommend him highly
Dr. Varma is wicked smart and always available. He's been my doctor for coming in two-years, and I've always been happy when meeting with him. He manages my meds well and is always there for emergency refills, even on days off. His assistant, Shannon, knows me by sight--totally refreshing!!--and is always very helpful. When Dr. Varma moved from Edina to Richfield, it added about six miles to my commute; he is totally worth every mile. I feel safe in his care, and I love his humor. Great doctor!
He was a very nice doctor. He was willing to see my son during a lunch break. He is usually backed up 2-3 months because of his demand.
He was really good. He was concerned about side effects. He is very easy going and non judgmental. I am very happy I found him and would recommend him highly.
