I came to Dr. Patching about 3 years ago because I had gained lots of weight, was exhausted and developed sleep apnea due to thyroid cancer. I am a little over 2 years out having the gastric sleeve that Dr. Patching performed. Dr. Patching is very straight forward and wants you to succeed. I am loving my life now! I no longer have sleep apnea and have lots of energy.
I have experienced two surgeries with Dr. Patching. First was Bariatric surgery 2.5 years ago. Most recently Gallbladder surgery 2 months ago. Prior to the Bariatric surgery I was on a downward spiral with my health. I was a Type 2 Diabetic, had high blood pressure and took over 8 different medications daily. I am one year post op and I couldn't say anything negative about Dr. patching he cares so much about the well being of each of his patients and he cares about their success. If he is hard on you it's because he wants you to succeed, he makes each of his patients accountable for each step of this process. I couldn't have asked for a better provider! He raised his voice at me when I asked him a question he didn’t now the answer to. He’s very arrogant and narcissistic. Have seen him 5 times over the 6 months and my medical issue has worsened and his pocket book has grown. I would not recommend him if you have an actual complicated medical issue that you want resolved. He’s only in it for the money. Maybe see him if you want to lose weight, those surgeries are a cash cow... pun intended.
I had Gastric sleeve in June 2019. Dr Patching approach to eating behaviors and exercise have made the experience exactly what I had hoped for. This process is not an easy “fix”. You have to do the work. The advice, tools and follow up visits have made this life changing for me. Dr. Patching is an amazing doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients. This is not always the case these days. Dr. Patching guides his patients through the weight loss process with care and compassion. His staff is always friendly. The office runs on time. I’ve had 2 procedures performed by Dr. Patching, and I am very pleased with the results of both. One of them was a weight-loss surgery. His team is excellent and is committed to following your weight loss journey well after surgery. My weight loss has been very gradual, not drastic at all, and his team has helped me address psychological issues that remain post-op. It is very true that weight-loss surgery is NO miracle cure... you need a strong medical team behind you if you want to remain successful in the long-term.
Dr. Patching is AMAZING.. I was referred to another surgeon for WLS initially, Dr. Patching was offering a class on the myths in WLS and invited me to come. As soon as his class was over I knew he was the one I wanted to do this process with, he doesn't sugar coat anything, he holds you accountable, him and his staff are so respectful. He left no gray area in this process for me, he is a GREAT doctor and he truly cares about his patients, now and long term.
Dr Patching and his team is amazing!!! I am so happy that I was able to find him and follow his gastric sleeve surgery. In this process of preparing for the surgery, we saw many different doctors to ensure I was ready for it including Phycologists, nutritionist, and anything else needed for you specifically. The monthly support group with his Nurse Kate is great and helps you to stay on track before and after surgery.
