Surgery for umbilical hernia was performed by Dr. Katsis. Procedure was flawless from preparation, through surgery, and post operation care. He is personable, explains all aspects in easy to understand terms, and conveys confidence. His staff obviously is extremely supportive and has total belief in his surgical ability.

Not only did I work with Dr Katsis at SFH Post op, trauma, Bariatrics unit, I was also his patient. I had Lap Gastric Bypass RNY surgery Feb 4, 2002. No complications, recovery progressed as expected. Very successful weight loss and 21 years out very happy with my results! He is a gifted surgeon with a stellar bedside manner and ease in communication. I would highly recommend him for any procedure. Surgeon did a stomach procedure on me. I was sent home from the hospital 2 days early. I had a go bleed which almost killed me if paramedics had been 10min later. I was in ICU and surgeon refused to return calls from the physicians & nurses. Once home I called his office with additional complications. He not his nurse ever called back so I've had no post op care except at the hospital and my GI physician. STAY AWAY!

I laid in the hospital for 12 days. On referral, my husband begged Dr. Katsis to transfer me to his care. Within 2 days he had diagnosed the issue and done surgery. He also found a spot on my kidney that had been ignored which turned out to be cancer. A year later I am cancer free and, I believe, alive due to Dr. Katsis’ medical expertise. I can’t thank him enough.

Dr. Katsis literally saved my life. I had a gastric band placed by another doctor previously and it had eroded and caused my to go septic. I was in the hospital for a month. Dr katsis removed my band, repaired my stomach, removed my infected gallbladder, placed a chest tube, ng tube and did everything he could to save my life and get me well again. I'm so thankful for him and would recommend him to anyone. You'll receive great care.

I've been a patient since July of 2008. Dr Katsis did surgery on me I 2009. I first went to him in 2007. After that meeting I left knowing i only wanted him to do my surgery. He is very knowledgeable and caring. He takes his time and really listens. His bedside manner is impeccable. He's done one other surgery and 2 procedures on me since 2009. If I need any other procedures or surgeries that he specializes in, he'll be the one I use. The only draw back is his office is incredibly busy.

Doctor completely misdiagnosed my condition. His actions destroyed the medical proof of my issue for the insurance companies. The office staff are incompetent. They do not return phone calls or know how to properly code insurance forms. They complain that they are too busy to help. The doctor agreed to do a peer to peer review. 4 months later he was still too busy to do a 10 minute phone call. Entire fiasco went on for 8 months before I gave up. DO NOT USE!! Not worth your health.
