A sudden onset of neuropathy, got me a referral to Dr. Ahmed. I left her office in tears and confused. She did not offer me any advice, alternative treatment or any type of diagnosis and told me to call in 6 months! After telling my primary, she referred me to another neurologist. Night / and day. Spent over 2 hours explaining to me treatments, possible causes, ordered appropriate tests.
The doctor is rude. Does not listen to the caregiver. She has no business treating patients with Alzheimer's. I took my mother to see her and I am in her records as someone they can talk to. She never looked up from her computer. Told me not to get emotional just give her the facts but she didn't want to listen to what's been going on with my mother. Sophia Ahmed and/or her staff are heartless and uncaring. She diagnosed my Mom with Dementia years ago. I've tried to get Mom enrolled in an Adult Alzheimer's Day Care Center for 1 or 2 days per month because I need a break and caregiver burnout is Real. I have made several attempts to request Ahmed to sign a form verifying the diagnosis which is required by the Day Care Center but she has neglected to respond. I have seen her for over 1 year and had a recent MRI completed due to another issue. drove to the office to make the appointment and physically handed them my MRI and report( I asked them to do this prior and they couldnt give me a reason why it wasnt done) . I specified and stressed this appointment is to review the MRI as my other doctors strongly recommended me to visit her. It took over 1 hour to be seen at my visit. This office is a mess, who ever runs the office doesn’t know what they’re doing. They make appointments for patients with her for 8am and the doctor doesn’t show up, (walks into the building) until 9am. You wait an hour to be seen, so might as well come late. She nor her staff respond to portal messages, don’t fix issues with prescriptions and if your exam needs prior auth or a peer to peer, forget about them helping. Worst experience I have ever had with a Doctor. First visit took 2 1/2 hours. I waited 2 hours before being seen . When she finally came in to see me, half way through me explaining my symptoms, she took a phone call, excused herself and walked out chuckling to whomever on the phone. My last visit, I scheduled my appointment to be the first one to avoid waiting... only for her to walk in to the building 40 minutes late. The visit was 2 hours. Didn’t see her until an hour after my appointment and then had to wait to put orders in and didn’t give me all my orders I needed and had to wait more to check if I needed labs. It was so unorganized and unprofessional. No patient should have to wait for orders
