I was referred to Dr. Wiener from a senior doctor in another Urology practice who recognized the utility and effectiveness of the HoLep surgery for BPH and particularly Dr. Wiener's experience and skill in performing it. My surgery results have been completely satisfactory . The care extended by the entire staff at Upstate Urology, at the Community Campus, has been exceptional, including rapid resolution of catheter complications during the time before surgery.
After both my primary and radiologist saw kidney stones. Dr. Weiner says I don't have kidney stones. Dismissive, rude and visit was over in five minutes. Now wants me to have another mri but booked out till Sept. for that. Never going back here.
I was diagnosed with a severely enlarged prostate in October 2024 which resulted in my inability to void and a catheter was placed in me. After a series of tests over the next 3 months it was found that I had benign prostate hyperplasia and it was recommended by my urologist that I undergo a prostate artery embolization which was scheduled for March 2025. The Holup procedure and Dr. Wiener change my life , could not be happier with the results.
Dr Wiener is hands down the best. You know he's very very busy but he will sit and spend the time you need to be sure everything is okay. He will answer all of your questions and actually make you feel seen as a patient - which is sadly rare when you're a woman. His team beneath him will come and speak to you with just as much respect, they all communicate together to help find the best solution. I have gone to him for 3 years now for kidney stones and I have nothing but amazing experiences with him and his entire team.
