The discussion by Dr. Kretzer to my wife at the consultation visit was basically as follows. Due to the location on the spine, this surgery is rare, complicated (about 5 hours), and not routinely done. While we were reviewing the MRI, Dr. Kretzer explained the pros and cons of the surgery, and probable outcome if not performed. His professional knowledge, easy manner, attention to detail, gave her the peace of mind to have the surgery. This review refers to a long period of care with Dr Kretzer, since 2015. He is amazing, intelligent, caring, highly trained neurosurgeon. I have trusted him with my life! I have had two major spinal surgeries with him (12.5 hrs and 6.5 hrs) to keep my spine from crashing further due to scoliosis. Can't get an appointment with this guy. His front office staff just forwards call to scheduling and then you have to leave a message. It has been 4 weeks and no return call. I have tried several times to schedule only to be transferred to the scheduling person who NEVER returns your call. So, if you want to die and wait for the scheduling person to call, then wait. Otherwise, go to some other neurologist office.

Dr Kretzer is Very kind & knowledgeable about his field. We are very thankful for him & his team. He has a well trained staff. My surgery is barely 3 weeks out & I feel so much relief from pain & numbness. We thank God for the wonderful care.
Dr Kretzer changed my life. I was not able to go for a short walk. After my surgery and recovery I now can go for long walks. I also am able to play tennis.
Dr Kretzer saved my life. I came in numb on my left side and paralyzed in my left hand, my dominant hand. He looked at my MRI and immediately scheduled me for surgery. I freaked out and ran away to Hawaii for 3 weeks. When my condition got worse vertigo etc. I came back to Tucson. He did the surgery 3 days later. I was in the hospital for 4 or 5 days then home. Recovery was slow and painful. I used a walker for 3 months and a cane for another 3. But today I can walk, ride a bike, play golf
