Dr. Downey saved my life 8 years ago. Since the surgery, I haven't even had a single chest pain.
One day before Open Heart surgery, after all the prep work was complete, Downey had his secretary call me on the phone to tell me the surgery was cancelled - no explanation, no advice, no nothing. IF this the measure of the man, I would say he is abject failure in life. Since he did not operate on me, I can not comment on his surgical skills . Probably just as well, as I found an excellent surgeon in Ann Arbor.
Dr Downey and his team have taken great care of my father, getting him in for tests with some urgency, doing a TAVR procedure and then the follow-up care. It felt like we were part of his family the whole time. Highly recommend him for his expertise and care.
Highly recommend. Superb office staff combined with superb consultation by Dr. Downey even though surgery wasn’t necessary. He takes the time to throughly go over your exams, options and concerns. Great experience all around. Thank you so much!(:
I was very pleased with the care I received from Dr Downey and his staff. I had complications following surgery which were attended to in a timely manner. I would recommend him to anyone going through heart surgery.
It's unfortunate that there aren't any negative stars. Dr. Downey would certainly merit them as far as I am concerned. Noticed his "good" reviews were a few years ago. Perhaps he is a skilled surgeon but he can make a mistake and would never admit to it and refused to speak to the family about the operation. He is a rude individual and cannot take the time to speak with anyone associated with the patient or their family.
Very poor follow-up.
This is hands down the absolutely most skillful, knowledgeable, professional, caring Dr. I have had the privilege of becoming one of his patients. He acted with a sense of urgency and kept me calm and steady but knowledgeable about the seriousness of my new heart issue, my first surgery and heart surgery at that, I was kept comfortable and informed, his staff was very kind and informative and my care was very personalized. I will always recommend this Dr. And his wonderful staff.
Very good Doctor. He's very Professional and knows what he's doing. Always caring for your we'll being and Nurses & staff very friendly as well. Honestly I didn't want to leave the hospital if it wasn't that I was tired from being in bed most of the time. Thank you Dr. Downey.
