If you have any kind of brain damage from stroke or anything else, this is not your guy. I have been struggling with vestibular issues since 2009 - my general practitioner always says I should see a neurologist. He dismisses my complaints about the balance issue as 'vertigo' and seems to have no idea, or no interest, in figuring out how to help me. I asked him why my doctor insists I see a neurologist. He saved my life. Perfect doctor - kind, knowledgeable and accessible. He always calls back the same day.
At first I thought he was an excellent doctor and very helpful but now I cannot recommend him. No matter what you need he will ask (refill prescription, a recommendation for another specialist...) you have to come in so he can get the money for the appointment. After years of seeing him he has no other answers for my headaches and migraines. My suggestion is to go see someone who is younger with a more current degree.
I went to Dr. Babkes as I was experiencing severe headaches a few days after being rear ended in a car accident. My Primary doc believed I had a concussion. This doctor ordered a cat scan and gave me medication that wiped me out. After a week of waiting for him to call me back with the results, I called him. He told me to wait two more weeks and see if I got better...even though he would not tell me what the test results were. I explained that I still had headaches and needed to go back to work soon. Worst doctor ever. When doctors aren’t polite or it doesn’t feel right, I always give them a chance, thinking maybe I’m not an easy patient. I gave plenty of chances to this doctor. It’s like if the symptoms are not common enough for him, you’re making it up. He laughed at me in a call, because another doctor asked me to call him and ask about some symptoms.
Very positive experience. Dr. Babkes provided me with medication that eliminated my migraines and feelings of off-balance. He always promptly renews my prescription, and honors my request to stay on a low dose of the medication. Thank you!
Dr. Babkes has treated me for many years for my migraine headaches. I have always been so impressed by his genuine care and concern for me while treating this disabling condition.
