Have not had my surgery yet, but our visits have been very informative and easy to understand. Great bedside manners and I feel like I’ll be in good hands during my upcoming surgery!
I came to Dr. Patel after a surgeon at MSU refused to help me. I had two previous back surgeries and was needing another fusion. After such a rotten experience at MSU (I live in Lansing), I was nervous how I would be treated at UofM. From scheduling, to finding my way around the hospital, the people I encountered were helpful and kind. I felt truly cared for by Dr. Patel and his staff. The commute from Lansing to Ann Arbor is absolutely worth it!
Dr Patel is a very kind and compassionate person. He did my two back surgeries in July. Compared to the X-rays from the start of this ordeal my spine is straight and looks wonderful. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I will miss seeing him.
Dr Patel is a very knowledgeable and interesting individual as well as physician. He listened to what I had to say, not only about my physical condition, but also my preferences in my own care. He explained any and all procedures thoroughly and answered any and all questions I had. He and his staff, were all very friendly and courteous. We drove a long distance, numerous times, to meet with Dr Patel. While it was tiring, it was so worth the journey. Thank you Dr Patel.
He may not have the best bedside manner, but he is the BEST surgeon I've dealt with in 15 years and the only neurosurgeon I've deal with in that time. I would recommend him to anyone, he gave me my options and told me what would happen if I had to have another surgery.
Very nice and knowledgeable Dr. however; his staff is less than courteous. My wife saw him a month ago and she still doesn't know when she will be able to have surgery. We left multiple messages with his nurse AND his scheduling receptionist and it took a week only to hear, we're still not scheduling for two months out. So that means it will have been at least 3 months from the time she saw him, to the time she actually has surgery. I would not choose this route again.
First of all, not sure why the Back and Pain Center in Northville scheduled me with an ortho surgeon to discuss my MRI when I could have told them I didn't need surgery. I went there for pain treatment. I took half a day off work to go to main hospital only to have Mr Patel literally walk in the room for no more than 30 seconds while spewing out that my images didn't show anything that required surgery and that he believes I have pain but he can't help me,...then he said good luck and left.
I saw dr Patel and was very comfortable with him and his findings. I have utmost confidence in him.
seems like hes over booked alot
