Was switched to see this doctor due to a scheduling error with my normal physician. Walked in with very negative body language, basically wanted to get to the point, and appeared bothered that I saw him instead of my regular physician , advised me to take otc medication and to come back in 3 days if I was not better. My father was going to this Doctor and I have never been more disappointed with a doctor in my life. No concern for his patients and no returned phone calls. If he would have been a more proactive physician my father may not be in his current condition. Overall, poor care given, I do not recommend him.
This doctor did my rhinoplasty. I went in to get a reduction, very slight. It wasn't even that bad to begin with. It went awful. My nose is BIGGER now than it was before this happened and one side is slightly wider than the other, disproportionate. Upon going to see him for checkups after a year or so, he sent me to get a second opinion from another surgeon because he claimed that he had "no idea" what he should do. Wow! This is the nicest doctor I have ever met! He listened to my concerns, making eye contact the whole time. He asked me clarifying questions and was sympathetic to my concerns. I was very impressed that I left his office with typed notes in hand, so that I had an objective summary to share with my husband. I would recommend him completely and without hesitation!
My family and I have been going to Dr. Dondlinger for almost 20 years. We love him. While I agree with the comment that he is not into, "warm fuzzies", he has always answered all of our questions, and taken as much time as necessary. He is upfront about the pros and cons of any proposed treatment. Beyond that, HE CARES! Our daughter has had some serious respiratory issues. Not the best friendly doctor. Doesn't show the concerns for the patient and is more task oriented. Have decided to switch many time, but now I only go and see him for my wellness visit or when I need prescription or referrals. As soon as I find a good doctor, I am sure switching, if I don't get lazy again. This doctor needs coaching on how to treat patient and build relations.
Visits are odd in that it seems like he wants me to tell him what my ailments are and then he can prescribe meds. My presence there is sort of an inconvenience for him ... in and out as quick as possible. That makes personal conversation awkward. I picked him because it mentions that he specializes in men's health. I've had digital prostate exams before, but his method literally took about 1/2 of a second. Didn't seem very thorough or complete to me. Awkward and strange is how I explain it.
I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Dondlinger for my elderly mother who was experiencing back pain. After reading the reviews I questioned whether or not to keep her appointment…but I decided to take her due to the urgency of her condition. Dr. Dondlinger spent an ample amount of time talking with both of us about her situation and did not appear to be rushed. I found him to be competent, but task oriented.
