My son is a veteran and suffers from PTSD and we had a VERY difficult time getting him to see any MD because of his depression. Dr Usry came highly recommended from a friend of ours. When my son got in to see him after weeks of waiting for his appointment, his response was "lose weight". Period. Eat less, get more exercise. My son told him that my other son, also a veteran with PTSD told him to get help NOW, Dr. Usry dismissed him completely. Do NOT see this charlatan.

Like others, I started out thinking he was a great doctor. That has changed. He is not engaged. He does not listen and responds in a dismissive snarky manner. Last visit he uttered something and walked out of the examination room to go socialize with his twenty something minion students/ nurse practitioners and never said good bye. Horrible bedside manner. Switching doctors. I need a physician not an over glorified urgent care.

I have been seeing Dr. Usry for several years, since he first started at this practice. He used to be a very good doctor. He had great bedside manner, and I felt confident in his care. When my oldest child became too old to see her pediatrician, I switched her to Dr. Usry. My husband sees him as well. However, the past 2 years I have only been able to get in to see him once and this took a month after making the appointment. It seems like he no longer cares and patients have to see a nurse.

His office has become extremely dangerous to my family. Most of which has come from the incompetent nurse practitioners. Dr Usry and his Wife use to be pretty good doctors. But today they have taken on so many patients you rarely get to see them. Instead they have the nurses take care of you and give advice during medical emergencies and situations that need attention. Both my Daughter and Wife ended up in the ER with very serious conditions due to the nurses telling us everything would be OK.

Good personal interaction, but difficult to get an appointment. Refills can be very hectic, so start weeks in advance. Also, seems to see large volumes of patients, so the feeling of personal attention to specific medical history and needs of each patient is somewhat lacking (four people in my immediate family see Dr. Usry at this time).

Visits are 15 mins long! Dr. does not examine patient other than to listen to lungs. Messed up my medication dose multiple times based on labs not symptoms, I felt fine and then said well I don't know what to do with you anymore. I have had many labs drawn & as a RN I get copy of my results for my record. Many issues I have can be related to these abnormal levels, when I got the results back they were out of range. They called and told me my labs came back normal - which I know they didn't.

Dr. Usry has good bedside manner when the office is not busy. Otherwise he is rushed and seems to ignore your concerns. I also have waited in the exam rooms for 30-40 minutes on several occasions. All the while hearing Dr. Usry outside the room small talking with staff. I really think the practice has expanded beyond its capabilities to handle so many patients. I was very happy several years ago, and now considering a new general practitioner.
