We saw Dr. Ahmed and the team at UAB West. This is a fantastic facility that allowed us to avoid having to go downtown. We really do not like going downtown because The traffic, the parking, we are old, and we live two hours away. This makes a lot easier. We wish we could get the valve done here. These things matter as you get older.
My brother had a dangerous blockage in the main artery to his heart that other doctors said would require bypass surgery. He later met with Dr Ahmed who said a stent was possible to repair the problem. My brother felt comfortable after meeting with Dr Ahmed who later did perform a successful stent procedure. My brother was up and around and feeling much better the next day! Dr Ahmed is an amazing doctor and I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation
I went to a hospital , where I had a procedural need to do a stent and a wire got stuck in my artery and it was a life threatening situation. They were certain that I needed open heart surgery to fix the situation.But then I got to transfer to doctor ahmed at uab hospital to somehow was able to take out the wire and put a new stand in and fix a situation without having to crack my chest open. I've been doing great since. It was scary and upsetting until Dr Ahmed got involved.
Dr Ahmed replaced my mother’s valve. The procedure was easy on her, she was up and about immediately afterwards. It was not what she was thinking it was much easier. 1 month after the valve, she’s doing twice weekly water aerobics, a ballet class and also just regular walking!
Dr Ahmed did a procedure on my dad he had to drill the artery and was successful. We saw his team for follow up at UABWest Hospital. Coming from Tuscaloosa it was perfect and so convenient and he goes there himself.
