In 2023, I brought my speech-delayed child to Dr. Mellie, expecting a supportive and empathetic pediatrician. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. Dr. Mellie was visibly irritated throughout the entire visit and refused to believe my daughter's speech delay, despite her having been evaluated twice. She repeatedly suggested, in a dismissive tone, that my child might be autistic.
