About this business

My approach to treating your neurosurgical problem is based on how I would treat my own family. That means recommending conservative treatment when that is likely to help you and surgical treatment when other treatments have failed and when the data indicates a high chance of a great outcome. In other words, I believe in "doing the right thing" at all times.

He performed two back surgeries on my before coming to Grants Pass. I have permanent nerve damage to my right leg after the second surgery he performed. I could go on about what a terrible experience this time was but it would be extensive. When he couldn't explain why I was continuing to have pain he asked me how much I weighed and how tall I was. I told him and he said, 'I'm 6'1' and don't weigh near that much'. I have never had such treatment from a physician.

I had significant pain in my neck and shoulder and numbness in my hands. Dr. Matthew L. Miller listened intently on every word I said. He asked me questions so he could get an idea of what my symptoms were and coupled that with the MRI to form a plan of what I needed to have done on my cervical spine C2 -C6. Neurosurgery is, I believe, the most challenging of the specialties. The surgeon has to be brilliant, but also must have really great hands. It takes a lot of patience at times to perform certain delicate procedures in a... read more

The overall experience was very good. From the front office to the exit appointment I experienced professional, courteous care. The follow up phone calls were always completed. This was the second surgery by Dr. Miller for my family. The first surgery was difficult and Dr. Miller handled the problem with skill and professionalism. I would highly recommend Dr. Miller for any neurological surgeries.

On my first appointment with Dr.Miller, he spent maybe 10 minutes with me. He did not know anything about me and 2nd appointment he still didn’t know anything about me, almost has he didn’t even bother to review my chart. He treated me as I was just one more patient for him to see that day. I drove all the way to Medford for practically for nothing. All he recommended for me was surgery, didn’t even bother to explain what I was looking at on the MRI. Another 10 minutes wasted for him to say “ well good luck and call when you... read more

An urgent referral was sent over for continued care of my brain injury, after my Neurologist retired. It was placed on his desk the same day---that part of the practice was amazing. However, it's been nearly a month (and several follow-up calls); apparently he still hasn't reviewed the referral and just got back from being gone for 2 weeks. During which time my symptoms are worse, the migraines are excruciating!! I had to seek some temporary relief from an ER visit. Looking at other reviews, the practice has a history of lea... read more

I found Dr.Miller to be a very caring person and he Listens to your concerns. To consider spine surgery in the first place you need confidence in your surgeon. My first surgery was a Laminectomy and the second a TLFT. I appreciate The care and attention From Dr.Miller and the staff at SONSA,
