I signed up for cataract surgery on both my eyes a mth apart. I was quoted by 2 people in the office a price of $4,000/eye because I was told that insurance covered cataract surgery but not Lasik. After all the bills came in the first eye cost me $5,500. The office manager basically told me to pound sand. Needless to say I canceled the second eye. The craziest part of it was Dr. Hartman billed my insurance company $1,500 for the cataract surgery and then billed me $3,150 in the side. So he charges 3 times as much for his lab... read more

Dr. Hartman is a skilled cornea surgeon. He explains procedures and treatment carefully and clarifies all questions. He is responsive to concerns.

His office staff is lovely. He was very nice BUT my vision is worse than before the cataract surgery. I found out from my Optometrist that he did not use the parameters she suggested for the lens. Now I have to wear contacts to get anywhere close to my prior vision. I wish he had read the Optometrist notes or even called her to talk through them. I know doctors are busy but it’s MY vision that I have to live with now.
