The only downside is the LOOOONG wait time, but the front staff will usually be honest with you about the wait time, or expect a longer wait than you're told. Bring lots of books/magazines, fully charged pager to use, knitting project and so forth wihile you're waiting. Dr. Plotka is the ONLY doctor I will see there in the office. I will call ahead of time to see if he is working at the time. However, there is one nurse that is horrible and abusive toward me, very hateful. I don't understand where all of these bad reviews are coming from. The only downside is that it takes awhile (sometimes 4 hours or more) to be seen, depending on what time you go. But he spends a lot of time with his patients and is very thorough and friendly. Someone I'd like to go to as a primary care physician, not just an emergency walk-in. He also does x-rays and I think has a lab for blood tests, etc. The staff were all friendly to me.
I went to Dr. Plotka for 2 years, only because I followed a PA over there. When he left, I started looking for a new pain management doctor! The wait time is 4 hours to see him, and it doesn't matter if you have the first appointment of the day or not. He doesn't even show up to the office until 11 a.m. I've watched for him for several months just to make sure I was right. I barely saw the doctor. However, the staff were actually abusive, and this is the worst emergency care situation I have ever had. When the office manager (who lied to me and told me she was the owner!!) is encouraging her staff to be abusive to patients,(not just me, but several other patients who were there, too) all I can say is - stay away from this place. Far, far away! Any doctor who hires people like this and apparently condones this type of behavior is not anyone I think should be practicing medicine.
If medical help was water Plotka would be Jesus! Most of his staff (the ones who answer questions as if they are the dr themselves) however would probably sink like the Titanic.
Very knowledgable doctor, but overprescribes narcotic pain killers to people who should not have them.
Dr. Plotka is quite friendly and knowledgeable, but acknowledged to us that he desperately needs to hire another MD to help shorten the wait time to see him. We spent over 4 hours there to see him and will likely not go back since the wait time is so long.
Even though his staff lost record of my payment, he was a good Doctor. He diagnosed my daughter correctly and it helped her immediately. We will continue to go to him on an emergency basis.
The worst doctor visit experience ever. The fill-in doctor gave me medication that didn't work for me and even though I made numerous calls for a prescription change, no one would even return my calls! The medical profession in this country has truly gone to the dogs if this guy and his staff are an example. I've never encountered such noncaring, unprofessional people in my life and I'm 58 yrs. old. I will not return and will give him a bad recommendation to anyone who's interested.
