Dr. Perloe is a miracle worker! I cam to him 2 and 1/2 years ago after seeing 2 otehr fertility clinics in Atlanta. I had both tubes removed and an extremly low AMH for my age. Both of the other fertility clinics told me I needed donor eggs to conceive. He told my husband and I that he only needed one good embryo, and I got 4 with my own eggs. Compassionate, understanding, courageous, and very attentive to detail, are just a few words to describe Dr. Mark Perloe. When researching to find a fertility specialist, my prayer was to find someone who could help me through every step of the way. Although I conceived naturally, Dr. Perloe and his staff went above and beyond the duty of call. Every question, every concern, was handled in appropaite timing. I LOVE Dr.Perloe. I flew our to him for a 2nd opinion after a NC reproductive endocrynologist said IVF would be 'my next step' after PCOS diagnosis with several unassisted miscarriages. Dr.Perloe didnt put me through testing that wasnt necessary and told me I was young enough to continue trying on my own. He has ALWAYS responded to my emails, without charge, the same day. Told me my baby was in distress and I needed a c/section. He lied. Had an OB RN with me (as a friend) who later told me there was no fetal distress on the monitor and the reason for my c/section was listed as CPD not NRFHT's. He gave me eight hours from AROM to hos decision to "get it over with". Also had a rep among the nurses of being rude and speaking badly about pts.
They are expensive! Ask them clearly what amount you are responsible. And read their price sheet before you do anything. A lot time it's treated as hospital visit and your hospital deductable may apply while you may get the same service with other doctors in their offices.
Everyone beware of this clinic. I used them and they never correctly diagnosed me. I had endometriosis and they did three cycles of IUI and one cycle of IVF. I originally had Dr. Perloe and them switiched to Dr. Kaplan which was not much better. She acted like she was asleep half the time. They mixed us up with another patient several times. I agree with all the other comments, this has to be the worse clinic/doctor's office I have been to. From my interactions Dr Perloe's first treatment for every patient is PCOS and puts you on medicine. In addition it seems that if you are even slightly overweight they will not treat you until you loss what they feel is adequate amount. He even suggestions weight loss surgery to me when I hadnt lost the correct amount of weight in his time frame. Worst RE clinic I have ever, ever been to. I have never commented on these boards but want other people to know about this office. The office staff is terrible and does not have the time of day for you. The nurses know nothing. They can fill their one job requirement and that is it. The are rushed all the time. They are incredibly expensive for no apparent reason. I did not see Dr. Perloe so can't vouch (or not) for him, but the office staff/nurses are enough for me to never want to deal with this office again.
I agree with the others. When we left the practice, we got a call asking us why. I was very honest and explained his bedside manner was atrocious. Actually, I could deal with that if I felt as though my treatment was good. He may be very knowlegeable in his field, but his treatment protocol was very unorthodox and didn't work. My new doc stopped just short of calling him a quack. If you are one of his patients, get a second opinion before pursuing further treatment. I wish I had.
