Horrible bedside manner. Staff is very rude. Good Surgeon.

I had a neoplasm removed. Mark Dodson was not able to speak with me after the surgery because he left town. I asked for a phone call; he did call after I had left two messages, but was quite rushed, and ten minutes of his time seemed to be an imposition. He said he couldn't give me a medical degree in 3 minutes. I am a practicing RN and he assumed I could not understand what he had to say, or he was too lazy to take the time. Unfortunately, he behaved as a caricature of the self-important surgeon with poor bedside manner. Dr... read more

I had colon cancer and had chemo and radiation. I went to Dr. Dodson with some symptoms that scared me. His exam was extremely painful after I told him about the sensitivity other ob-gyn doctors use, but he didn't care. He used major force. He told me prior at my age I would never need another pap again. After his exam, he told me horror stories of what is eventually going to happen to me from the radiation I received. I was in tears. My oncologist radiologist never said anything like that! I left a mess. When I received the... read more

Dr. Dodson is an amazing doctor. He confirmed my diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer and quickly made an emergency plan without hesitation using current proven methods. My CT scan and ultrasound results were sent to him from the ER and he looked at them Immediately and got me in right away. He did my debulking surgery immediately and was aggressive to get every tumor out. Dodson is matter of fact in a cancer diagnosis. An excellent surgeon and he communicated well with me during my 12 day stay in the hospital. He set me up f... read more

I loved Dr. Dodson. He completely removed my cancer. I appreciated his to-the-point explanation and skill in surgery. I’ve talked to many doctors, and they agree that he’s the best!

He literally saved my life. He’s a little bit curt, but I appreciate his unhesitating honesty.

Had a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Mark K. Dodson. He lacked compassion, was very prideful, had zero bedside manner skills, and made me feel VERY uncomfortable on the examination table. When someone is going through cancer, the last thing they need is a doctor like this! I rarely write horrible reviews, but in this case, I feel it's necessary to forewarn others.

Dr. Mark Dodson was very clear about the reality of my diagnosis. He explained things in such a way that it was easily understood. He has a very natural and easy bedside manner as well as gives the impresseion of actually caring about his patients. The procedure itself (removal of lymph nodes and ovaries) went very well and i saw him before and after the procedure. I was uite impressed with him as a doctor and surgeon. I would recommend him to anyone.

If you are considering Dr. Dotson, please consider another doctor. He is too busy being a big shot and going to conferences to give you the dedicated time and attention you deserve. Please find another surgeon who will take the time and patience to really listen to you, not dismiss you, and help you feel confident in your healing—all things that Dr. Dotson is unable or unwilling to do. Because of his negligence, I almost died from my hysterectomy surgery, which delayed my chemo treatment.
