This is an email conversation between myself and the representative for the Christ Hospital Spine & Joint Center I just need a physician or an orthopedic doctor to help me out the doctors that I've tried to have been turning me away at UC. Very good, thorough, and professional. I had great success with surgery with complete relief from pain in a week. Answered every question and was enthusiastic about the outcome of my surgery. Highly recommended.
Another doctor who could not do the surgery I needed referred me to Dr. Magner after a 2-day trip to the ER with lumbar spine issues. He inspires nothing but confidence, but he also is very happy to discuss any concerns and questions. I expect to need a 2nd surgery, and while I am unhappy about needing the surgery, I feel in good hands with Dr. Magner and his team.
Dr. Magner is a wonderful neurosurgeon. I have looked everywhere for one to help with my condition and ended up finding the perfect one right here in Cincinnati. He explains things thoroughly and genuinely cares.
During my first visit, the NURSE rushed through my exam, never touching my back or even having me stand up or touch my toes or anything. Then, Dr. Magner's office significantly failed me when I became immobile due to an episode with my back. I called his office in tears to try to get my appointment moved up. They instructed me to just take some Tylenol and put ice on it. When I finally got in to see him again, he simply referred me to a colleague. Now, I'm right back where I started!!!
Dr. Magner was the 9th neurosurgeon I saw for Chiari Malformation. Most of the drs I saw are considered experts in Chiari, they did not offer solutions, only more meds, and also stated I should not have the symptoms I have. On my first visit, Dr. Magner looked at my MRI's and stated he could see why I had the symptoms I did. He offeered solutions, one of which was surgery. I had surgery in October, I am still recovering, but already feel so much better than I did. I highly recommend Dr. Magner
On our first consultation I didn't feel like he listened to me. Surgeons are not like primary care physicians. I returned for a second consult & I initiated more discussion. Honestly, I couldn't find another surgeon fast enough for rapidly deteriorating issue. I had surgery with him. He did a tremendous job & the aftercare was first rate. Very pleasantly surprised. Ive complete trust in him now & would choose him again! I recommend him to all & I'm VERY choosy. Dr & staff went extra mile for me!
Dr. Magner was so professional and attentive. I left our initial office visit with a clear understanding of my condition and the confidence that he would be able to help me get my life back. He explained each and every option and still made me feel like I had an option in my care. I would highly recommend Dr. Magner. Surgery was a success and I am feeling so much better only a month from the procedure.
