Dr. Kamat and her team has helped through difficult times. Dr. Kamat listens and provides very good treatment options. She is very thorough.
A mental health provider should not be judgmental. Or is it probably color issue? She is prejudiced, judgmental and she is unable to listen. I understand that mental health provider is a human being but we are the clients here. We are not in the position to take care of her mental health issues.
Whatever you do, do not go to this office!!I absolutely would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Incompetent staff. Impossible to get through to someone. Indifferent psychiatrist. Worst run office I have ever had to deal with. Front desk and ancillary staff have literally no idea what they are doing and do not communicate at all. It has taken me over a month to get med records and I am still not in receipt of them.
Abrupt, saw no compassion. Did not listen to phone calls when asked for a return call due to illness. Two times I asked for call with a code so I could fill out my insurance forms to get reimbursement . Never heard a word from her despite the fact that it would cost me hundreds of dollars. Would never recommend her.

Dr. Kamat is an extremely professional psychiatrist and a compassionate doctor. When I went to Dr. Kamat I was suffering and was in a dark spot. I was really feeling hopeless. She took care of me right away and helped me to come out of this bad phase. I feel truly blessed that I found her and would highly recommend her. She is someone whom you can trust. Thanks to Dr. Kamat and her compassionate team for doing an excellent job in helping me recover.
Decent, but has trouble listening, and you will find yourself repeating something she just asked you to share because she wasn't paying attention, and this will happen often. She also will not do her part when working with insurance to get needed testing done (genetic SSRI resistance test). When the insurance does its part in sending the necessary info/fax to her, she refuses to do her part in sharing what they need to review and approve the testing you need. Sadly, I do not recommend.
