I now know better...ALWAYS get a second or third opinion. I saw Dr. Lieber because I was having so much knee pain (had two arthroscopic surgeries before with different doctors) and he suggested a total replacement. I was 44 at the time. I woke up with severe nerve damage and drop foot; I couldn't move my foot until 4 months after and still, after 3.5 years, do not have complete feeling or control back. I brought both of my sons in for different injuries. Dr. Lieber took a great deal of time asking them questions and getting to know them and their injury. He was patient and professional. The staff was very nice as well. Both boys were given what they needed to help their injuries heal. Happy to have found a good doctor.
Went to him after going to Immediate Care where they told me I had broken the tip of my radius. He spent less than 5 minutes with me and barely looked at my arm at all. Was very dismissive and did not explain anything! He just told me yeah I broke my arm so don't move it and after wearing a sling "do some arm exercises." When I asked what he meant by arm exercises he just said you know, move your elbow up and down and squeeze a ball. Totally unhelpful! I would not and will not let anyone work on me or my family except for him....
If I could rate him lower than 1 star, I would. He is fine if things go right, but he totally ignored my complications and blamed a 102 temp on post surgery fever, ignored an open wound not healing at the incision site as caused by blood thinners even though wound clinic and hematology said it was not the case. Arrogant and ignored an infection that could have gone to my heart. Instead I found a new doctor who immediately admitted me to the hospital and performed surgery. For your own health, stay away from him. He cares only for himself... If anything goes wrong, you are in trouble.
We should be able to put zero stars. We took our son to see Dr. Lieber for a hip injury. Dr. Lieber rushed through the entire visit. He was extremely rude with what little he did say and spoke with his back to us the entire time! He didn't explain anything regarding the injury. When we tried to ask questions he was dismissive. As a patient you would expect the physician to provide a diagnosis with some sort of guidance, not to be so dismissive. He has absolutely no bed side/patient manners!
