Well after almost 4 years of weekly/biweekly sessions, I “graduated” from therapy today! I’m sure I’ll still be back to check in during tough times. But I can honestly say I feel truly happy, confident in my abilities, and relaxed. Dr. Perkel, guided to such a peaceful place. She is so down to earth and easy to talk to. She has a very comforting, insightful presence. It’s amazing to think about just how stressed and anxious I was when I first started. I was a little ball of anxiety, self blame, and self doubt. Certainly the best therapist I've ever seen. She's kind, empathetic, helpful, and clearly well educated. She offers unconditional positive regard while also pushing her clients to be the best they can be.

I found Dr. Perkel during a very difficult point in my life and am so thankful for her nurturing and caring therapeutic relationship. She helped me peel back a lifetime of repressed emotional issues. It also means patience with the process and willingness to admit to and overcome resistance. I have found Dr. Perkel to be creative, flexible, and inspired in sessions and to pose apt questions that lead me deeper within for new angles... read more

I have been in therapy for more than half of my life, on and off for at least 30 years. I have been seeing Dr. Perkel for approximately 8 months on a biweekly basis. I have NEVER made as much progress understanding myself and my triggers as I have in the last 8 months. My growth seems to me to be something just short of a miracle. I cannot begin to express the degree to which she has helped me. Maybe the timing was right, or I was due, or my meds are at just the right combination, or I'm older and wiser ... or maybe Dr. Perk... read more
