I’m a 25 year old patient who received gastric sleeve surgery in March of 2016. On the day of the surgery I weighed in at 270 lbs. Ten and a half months out I am down to 150 lbs. Dr. Pilcher was professional and the recovery was brief. I could have asked for a better surgeon.
I have been a patient of Dr. Pilchers for years. I haven't met a doctor that generally cared for his patients until I met Dr. Pilcher. I had the sleeve surgery in June 2017 and is proud of my weight loss.. Dr. Pilcher, has a good bed side manner. He is concerned about his patients.. He spend time talking to his patient and make sure that you understand all you need to know before leaving his office. I would highly recommend Dr. Pilcher to anyone seeking weight loss surgery.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. John Pilcher and his staff at Sage Bariatric! He performed my sleeve gastrectomy in 12/2016, and I have lost 189 lbs so far. Since then, I have sent 2 family members to him for the same surgery, and I would not trust anyone else! I have worked with him for years and knew he was the only choice for me. If you are looking for an excellent surgeon with warm and comforting bedside manner, Dr. John Pilcher is the one for you!
I wish I had 6 stars for Dr Pilcher. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Extreme professionalism and an angel of a bedside manner, Dr Pilcher cares. He is THE TOP bariatric surgeon in South TX hands down. Go nowhere else. Amazing skills but a more amazing person. SAGE his office and staff equally efficient and kind. Go NOWHERE else.
If you need a revision of a previous surgery or this is your first Bariatric Surgery, I can’t tell you how excited I am for you if you choose Dr. Pilcher to perform the procedure. I had a revision because of a bad experience with a previous doctor and was unable to keep food down. I was miserable and my esophagus was getting really bad. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. Pilcher. Talk about a different experience from the first. I would highly recommend Dr. Pilcher.
I had the stomach reduction surgery and have had a very good experience. I have been successful in my weight loss and have lost 66 LBS as of today. When I came to Dr. Pilcher, I could barely breathe. I had been to heart and pulmonary doctors who put me through every test imaginable and could find nothing wrong. Finally my heart doctor suggested that I might try the stomach reduction surgery. My sister recommended Dr. Pilcher. Best decision made.

Dr. Pilcher took the time to address each and every one of my questions. Post op , Dr. Pilcher, as well as his staff, was dedicated to keeping up with my progress. A year ago, while in the emergency room for an ongoing issue, I met a wonderful nurse. From her recent personal experiences, she referred me to Dr. Pilcher. My very first consultation was everything that I hoped it would be. He is an amazing doctor. I left that day knowing exactly what I wanted to do, all my questions were answered and I never looked back.
