Dr. Olarte is easy to talk to. He listens well to your concerns and remembers what was talked about from previous visits. He is especially diligent about keeping track of meds you are taking. I have been seeing him for over 15 years and have always been very satisfied. He has been very helpful to return me to more accurate thought processes. I have been extremely pleased to have him as my psychiatrist.
Dr. Olarte is one of the best doctors I've ever had. I saw him regularly for about 4 years (I stopped because I moved out of state). I always felt listened to and respected. Whenever I needed to switch medication, he explained all the options and their pros and cons, asked what I wanted to do, and respected my choice. I realize that may seem like a low bar, but I've had past experiences where a doctor brushed off my concerns or I didn't feel included in the decision-making process. In contrast, Dr. Olarte was thorough, never... read more
If a patient develops type 2 diabetes because of poor lifestyle choices, like lack of exercise or diet, a Dr invested in your well-being will prescribe the appropriate medication as well as recommend lifestyle changes. I don’t consider psychiatry to be any different. Certainly patients can opt to only take medicine and not make any other changes. Dr Olarte prefers the use of honesty with his patients, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I owe a lot to Olarte in his honest advice and support, to rebuild a life that doesn’... read more
I’ve been misdiagnosed by this man for a year and completely drugged up for a year with no real “therapy”. Do not confused a psychiatrist for a therapist like I did. I haven’t learned to cope and heal with my diagnoses and only to feel sorry for myself and unnecessarily cut people out of my life. Not to mention his inappropriate gestures.
Dr. Olarte has managed my meds for the past 10 years. He has been very proactive in making changes over time, as needed.
Dr. Olarte has masterfully managed my cocktail of medications for several years and spends time talking and offering advice.
Eight years ago, I moved to this practice when following my previous doctor from his original practice in north Raleigh. Upon my original doctor leaving, I was referred to Dr. Olarte as the "replacement" I can say with 100% certainty that this referrel was THE BEST decision I've made as it relates to a qualified, authentic, genuine counselor. Dr. Olarte is very professional and dynamic while remaining aware of my needs and/or questions I may have regarding different counseling approaches in c
Dr. Olarte is an excellent physician in every respect. His knowledge of up-to-date pharmacology and his compassion, as well as his excellence at both listening and communication, have been life-changing for me. My gratitude to him is immense. Not only does he have much wisdom in his counsel, he has a warm and friendly nature. He excels at both cbt and psychotherapy. He helped me so much when my husband became seriously ill and died. He’s a good doctor and a good person.
I usually don't write reviews but I have seen Dr. Olarte sinse he was a student at UNC. He is a great and trusted doctor that has helped me on so many things and not just just phsychiatry. I feel like Dr. Olarte is as much a trusted friend as a great doctor. Really good guy!
