Dr Whitehead is one of the worst doctors i have ever seen. He has one of the worst bedside manners and is insensitive. He hardly looked at my eye and did not pay much attention to any of my concerns. I have been to several other eye doctors and it's just utter waste of time and money to see Dr. Whitehead as he is just useless.
First ever bad review of a doctor but here it goes. Dr. Whitehead was extremely dismissive of the condition that I went in to see him for. He wouldn't listen to the concern that I was actually presenting to him and seemed to make up his mind withing 2 minutes of examining me. I could brush over all of this if it weren't for the fact that he also stuck his fingers in between my lips when pulling the skin on my face down to reveal more of my cornea. He wasn't wearing any gloves and didn't wash or sanitize his hands,.
Just finished up with the process of getting UV adjustable lenses in both eyes. Couldn't be happier. I had some severe personal scheduling issues and Dr. Whitehead went above & beyond to accommodate me. All his staff were great. He's a bit arrogant, but that's what I want in the guy cutting into my eyes. I could give a rip about bedside manner (I thought it was fine, but I see others complaining about it). I want the person who does the surgery well. It was clear he was a perfectionist, something else I want in a doctor.
Clear communication about treatment options.
While I don’t believe this doc did anything egregious in terms of medical practice, his bedside manner was poor (e.g. patronizing around patient anxiety, seemingly rushing me out the door). I have had way more positive experiences with other members of the Evergreen Eye practice, and would recommend seeing a different opthomologist there.
Attentive and informative
I would highly recommend Dr. John J. Whitehead, MD at the Evergreen Eye Care center in Seattle. He is a Ophthalmologist, Glaucoma Specialist and Cataract Surgeon. As important as our eyes, I was fearful of embarking of this operation. He made my fears go away with his professional manner and detailed explanation of what was going to happen that I could understand. He hired the best staff that works great together and took good care of me. Dr. Whitehead and his assistants are all professional and a great team. Thank you Dr. W... read more
