dr speed is a good dr and is very nice and patient and answers all my questions calmly as opposed to some drs that have been quite rude and upset when i ask
Dr. Speed was the on-call Doctor for the Doctor I went to. I was afraid I was going into labor and was doing all the things my Dr had told me to call in about. Well it was the weekend and they had to page Dr Speed at least 4 or 5 times! He would not call back. It took over an hour for him to call. My Dr usually calls within mins. When he finally did he was SOO rude. My sister goes to the same Dr as me and she had a D&C because of a miscarriage. She was in pain and had run out of pain medication. She called in and he was very... read more
Spent time in Critical Care unit due to poor care during my pregnancy. Vomited 9 to 10 times per day the entire 40 weeks. Doctor prescribe anti-nausea pills, and I couldn't hold them down long enough to help. Every complaint was met with the response that "that is normal". Obviously blood pressure of 190 over 140 isn't normal, but by this time I was in the critical care unit. Miserable care, and rude nursing staff to boot. Treated with magnesium sulfate in the hospital post delivery of my daughter; doctor never explained any... read more
Dr Speed was recommended to me by a friend who has been Dr Speed's patient. Dr. Speed delivered my both children (natural delivery). I was glad that him and not someone else delivered my kids. I felt that I and life of my kids were in good hands. Dr.Speed listens and explains. The other doctor in this office is doctor Tygart, who is also good.
I had a high risk pregnancy. He does try to have a sense of humor that I think can be taken in the wrong way. This puts some people off but I like a doctor with a sense of humor. I will admit I was rushed a time or two. I did see him weekly and this was not a common occurance. He even reperformed my 4-D ultrasound at no charge when DS was sleeping through the first.
Was not knowledgeable about procedure options. Not willing to listen. When I asked him about a procedure I had researched online, told me there was no such thing and that I watched too much science fiction! Found a better option for me.
Dr. Speed does not take the time to talk to his patients about their care. He never discussed my treatment plan after an abnormal pap smear. He should be discussing this with his patients while they are sitting up and can ask questions, not making offhand comments during a procedure and then rushing out when it is completed.
I spent 8 days in the hospital after my DD was born. 2 days in the critical care unit. He refused to transfer my records to my new doctor.
