I had a horrible rash spread over my body and he was the on call doctor that night. He would not help me at all, even after I went to the ER. He would not even come look at my condition to see what was going on. When I finally got my docotrs office the next business day they told me that I may ahave a liver disorder and may have to deliver my baby within 2 weeks. No thanks to Dr.Speed.

HORRIBLE Dr.!!This man shouldv'e gone into a different profession, because he obviously doesn't know how to have compassion for other people. He was extremly rude and uncaring after I had a misscarrige at 14 weeks. He was the doctor on call that day, and all I can say is...I feel sorry for people who actually have to see this doctor as their primary OBGYN...

I love Dr. Speed but his staff needs to get a personality. Very "snooty" nurses!

He has been my OBGYN since he came to Huntsville, about 22 years. He has delivered 2 children, done hysterecomy, which was very neccessary, and helped save my life when he helped discover I had breast cancer. Never had a problem getting him to talk to me in office or on phone. Was very patience in helping decide who to go to for breast cancer. Didn't even charge me for Consult visit that day.

I have been going to Dr. Speed since 1998. He has always been kinda of short and to the point. He was great when our baby was born. My last visit he was rude, wasn't listening, and acted like I was bothering him by asking a question. I will not go back. He actually was smirking when I asked him something. Like, I was not important and should not be bothering him.I plan to find a Dr. that will spend more than 2 min disregarding everything I mentioned. And someone who is professional about questions that are very confidential.

If this is your first baby and you want the experience to be memorable and pleasant do not go to Dr. Speed. He is very dismissing in nature and his bed side manor is horrible after 7 months of not knowing the sex of my baby he ultimately told me I was too big to see the baby I immediately went to a new ob and we found out in 1 min we are having a bouncing baby boy. He also failed to give me the option of taking prenatal test such as quad screening which he noted on my dr notes that I opted out when I was never even asked...

Dealing with Dr. Speed was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was rushed to the ER and after spending 6 hours there I was told I had an ectopic pregnancy and would have to have surgery to stop the internal bleeding. He was so rough with me during my pelvic exam that I was screaming and writhing in pain. He proceeded to ask me if I was bi polar. If I was not in so much pain I would have left the ER and went to a different hospital. I am actually going to try to find a different doctor to followup with regarding my sur... read more

got pregnant in feb. miscarried in march. got pregnant again in july but refused to believe it. on my first appt in sept Dr Speed told me i had twins. i didn't believe him. i thought he was joking. he let me listen to their heartbeats. on my first appt i heard my babies heartbeats. Dr Speed took good care of me during my pregnancy. he is not a man who wastes words. he is blunt and specific. that can be offputting to people who need warm and fuzzy. he has a wicked sense of humor and is very good at answering questions -but yo... read more

During pregnancy, I was rushed to the ER in severe pain. The ER staff told me they thought I was having a tubal pregnancy. They paged Dr. Speed. When he called, he told me not worry and he met me at the Women's & Children Center where he performed emergency surgery to see if I in fact had a tubal pregnancy (which I did). He rubbed my hand as they put me under (this compassion was much appreciated during this horrible time). He was able to save my entire tube, which Dr's since have told me was unheard of for my condition. I t... read more
