When I was hospitalized in 2020 at age 16 and treated for autoimmune encephalitis at Children's of Alabama, Dr. Ness spoke rudely to me. One specific instance was that she told me to "suck it up, buttercup" (exact quote) while I cried (I don't remember what I was crying about, but I'm sure it was something silly). I thought that was unempathetic and unprofessional.
