As an Orthopedic Surgeon, my success is measured by how well I can improve or prevent decline of the function of my patients. Although I am a Surgeon, I believe that most orthopedic problems can be treated by nonsurgical measures such as orthotics, therapy, injections, medications, etc. My patients become surgical candidates when nonsurgical methods are failing and when the patient tells me that they are ready for surgery. I'm grateful to Dr. Patterson for taking the time necessary to evaluate and find out the problem that had been causing me pain from an old injury in my leg. He was very thorough in his evaluation, helped me understand my options, and worked with me until the problem was solved. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and I loved his staff! Dr Patterson and his staff took great care of me after I broke my ankle and leg in Greece last summer. The initial surgery to repair my injuries took place while oversees and I came back and was able to get in to see Dr Patterson very quickly. Dr. Patterson is quick witted and has a great sense of humor which is welcome when faced in a scary situation as I was. We spent a year together and 2 surgeries. Office staff also very compassionate.

Dr. Patterson is a professional, experienced and compassionate doctor, who takes the time to thoroughly diagnose the problem, He makes sure you know your options, are comfortable with your decision if you choose surgery and follows through with you, from the first visit to the last, to make sure you are well enough and functioning in daily life again.
Dr Patterson was open, honest, and cooperative. I broke my patella in half and the lower half was in 3-4 pcs. The staff was kind, generous with their assistance, and empathetic to my pain.
In August 2017, I fell from a ladder shattering my heel (calcaneus), hip and elbow. In late December, I was told I needed urgent surgery on my foot or face serious damage. The surgeon who repaired my elbow recommended I see Dr. Patterson. He took the time to listen to my concerns, looked at all the medical imaging and explained that nothing was urgent and then created a plan to resolve the issues without surgery. I am very thankful for Dr. Patterson.
After having visited three Podiatrists, two in the East Valley I received three different opinions and treatment options---none of which resolved my very painful right foot big toe bunion. I had surgery with one of these Podiatrists which left me with even more problems and feel grateful to have discovered a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in only the ankle and foot...Dr. Patterson. My surgical outcome was positive and I couldn't be happier with Dr. Patterson--he is the best!
