Dr. Cohen was nice and pretty helpful, but the one star is for the office secretary named Lynn Tracy (I believe this is how her name is spelled). She is incredibly rude and inconsiderate. She talks down to me all the time, she is very condescending and EVERY time I call for help (scheduling, rescheduling, payment, etc) she makes it seem like such an inconvenience, despite that BEING HER JOB. I should have reviewed Dr. Cohen years ago but I'm doing it now. I first met him almost three decades ago. I was young and newly diagnosed, actually misdiagnosed by previous provider, as only having depression. Long story short, when I saw Dr. Cohen he was thorough in his assessment and compassionate. With my family history and piecing together my complaints at that time, I received the correct diagnosis and began treatment. They don't even deserve one star. Both Dr. Cohen and his secretary lack empathy for patients. Many times you leave practice worse. The doctor barely cares about how you are doing. He just checks the meds, he gives you a prescription, and simply tells you to see him again in 3 months, without caring if you're good, bad, or worse. He can’t care less. The secretary has really poor customer service skills, especially when she's in a psychiatric practice. She is rude and unfriendly.
Prior to any appointment I read your very convincing profile. I have rescheduled for next week. I have thought about becoming a patient. This morning when I did not have $ 30.60 until Friday~ ultimately generating the reschedule. That thought of feeling so insignificant after pleading for some mental health just reinforced my lack of faith. Dr. Ivan Cohen was my Psychiatrist a few years ago, prescribed medications, listened to me, filled out SSI disability papers, but I got rejected twice. He doesn't see patients in his office very long. Surprised he hasn't retired yet. His secretary was okay.
