I was impressed by Dr L's professional manner during routine colonoscopy. Referred my wife who had gallbladder issues. Then she had a routine colonoscopy and he just found 5 polyps. He is obviously a very busy and skilled doctor. I hold him in very high regard. Neither my wife nor I had the slightest issue with his personality. I saw Dr Levine. He was excellent. Not a handholder, but when it comes to saving my life for a rare gallbladder disease, he is the Dr to have. He personally phoned my home at 7pm to talk about the labs, didn't want me to hear it from the nurse. Then he set up a Sat. radiology appt to speed up the process. That is a great Dr. not a sweet one!!! I won't see anyone else.
I had a very unsatisfactory visit. The doc took two phone calls on his cell phone while with me. Leaving the room both times. Last time he said, "I am a very important man". That's egotistical and no excuse for not paying my case his undivided attention. He also bad mouthed my last doctor as to the Rx's he had prescribed. Overall, a waste of my time and the government's money for the visit.
I have been suffering for years with UC and Dr Levine changed my life. He is very direct, but he has been great to me. If you follow his treatment plan, he will help you. He is the best!
I called 4 days in a row to get a prescription refill, and never got a response. I had to go to an urgent care faciity to get my meds. They werent at all sorry, telling me that they called it in2 weeks ago, its the pharmacys fault. The second time they refused to give me meds they say are neccessary for me to never miss, they say they never got the lab work. For two years I went to different gastro drs in the Orlando area looking for a diagnosis. One doctor in particular, Dr. Dorf saw me numerous times to no avail. On my first visit with Dr. Lavine, he diagnosed me as having achalasia a rare condition that required surgery. Thanks to him I am 80 % better although there is no cure for what I have. Dr Levine is a professional. I've been to him several times and he knows what he's doing. I don't need a sleeve to cry on, just someone who knows his stuff. And, he really does. He is one of only two doctors in Orlando who perform the Barryx Procedure and he is my doctor. I feel lucky to have him. Thanks, Dr Levine
The last two appointments I waited an hours and a half to see him. His medical assistant does not return phone calls, and takes up to two weeks to phone back lab results. When this was discussed with him, he suggested I find another doctor. Was okay on the initial visits, but cannot depend on him or his assistant to keep up with the necessary maintenance of medication and lab results.
Dr. Levine is a very pleasent Doctor. People we are here to get better, not to find a friend!!!!!
